So this month was more research in regards to what prenatal options are out there for plant-based diets. My cycle started back on my 28 day run through like it normally was my last 3 cycles. I’ve officially cut out alcohol this month until further notice. I just want to be as clean as possible (highly recommend if you are trying). The book my mom got us, “How To Choose the Sex of Your Baby” is really interesting on how it really does track and stay on point when it comes to timing. Never did I think there was a “window” to get pregnant. Well so far between the temperature and the ovulation tests we are on track for making sure we are in that window. The Flo app adjusts how it needs to when I track my testing.
With it being the COVID-19 season a lot has changed from January. To be safe and make sure that we are being precautious, we have decided to push back our date. So we will be trying in June now, which is fine because its still the 2nd quarter but it is very important to me that my husband is there for ALL appointments including the ones before. With that being said we have officially scheduled our first appointment with a plant-based doctor here in Houston to make sure that I am on top of getting all my nutritional needs met. So my overall plan/goal is to have a nutrition doctor that will help monitor me throughout my pregnancy in making sure I am good and then the place where I want to have my baby, called The Birthing Place is where I will go for checkups during my pregnancy to track the baby and have the baby. My Doula is the in between. She will assist in the manner of if I need assistance or need to talk things out she is there as well. I’m considering since this is the first baby that I would just try it part time and just see how things are with time. Doctor’s appointment is set for May 11th at 6pm. This is great because it actually is a week before I ovulate and it literally will be a countdown from there for at least a full month of making sure I have the proper nutrients in my system.

So it is ovulation week and I am on track and started yesterday. Today is day 2 and everything is fine. I am going to have to be mindful on how I use these ovulation strips. I ordered more since we did push back the date. They key is making sure that we are not miscalculating anything. I now figured that with everything being on track it helps to just follow the Flo app and calculate it all. My CM is the hardest, but since I’ve been able to do my temperature and strip tests, those would be most accurate in tracking the correct times and range. Yesterday I visited my family and we discussed about us starting our family and just the excitement it will be when we have another little one in the house will be exciting. We (my sister and I) even went as far as looking up maternity shoot ideas. We are locked and loaded for Baby Holmes to arrive 2021!
