Okayyyy! I want to document and track what works/doesn’t work in a plant-based pregnancy journey. So an updateee! Christmas my parents (as cute as they are) got my husband a book called, “how to choose the sex of your baby”. Now, this may be a funny like sarcastic joke on their part but it was actually a great gift. My mom said it has a 95% success rate and they used it to get my brother lol. I’m just like ok…well lets just see about all this and test it out. Now the book has some great points and insight on just how the whole plan works to get a boy or girl. When reading it, I’m like this kind of makes sense and why it is more girls than boys etc or just how it all can play out. There is a “right time” to conceive and a position in fact that can help increase your chances as well..hmmm…lol. However, I said, let’s try it out. What is there to lose. Whatever we have is a blessing and I’m grateful for it, and just excited that the time to plan has come!
In case you want to know what book that was

Now, this 1st quarter I am tracking my cycle pattens and notating everything between my CM (cervical mucus) to my BT (Basal Temperture) which all play a factor in ovulation and to see your timing etc to conceive and what is best. So I went ahead and subscribed to the “Flo” app to track everything.
You don’t have to, that was my choice. So far it has been great. I am wrapping up the January cycle and today is actually my “ovulation” day, and I did notice a temperature change as well from the previous days so that all made sense to me when I notated it and just from reading the book too.
My next challenge to overcome is finding a doctor. Figuring out and knowing what I need to have to prepare my body and keep my nutrients that I need for pregnancy at a norm. So I’ve told my mom to help me with this and ask her doctor. I currently don’t have a regular person that I just go to for checkups. From being in college and moving the distance to continue going to the same person travel-wise didn’t make sense and was an hour away. I’m hoping that her doctor recommends someone insightful and helpful. I really am adamant on seeing someone by next month for sure to talk things out. I don’t want to be an “internet” person who looks up all this stuff and is trying things, because that can be a disaster within itself. Now, I did go ahead and look up some Instagram pages and hashtags and found really only 2 “vegan pregnancy” pages that were very informational.
Surpriseee there’s not a lot again for this kind of lifestyle. Understandable because it is all very new to society and being “plant-based” is just now getting it’s spotlight a tad bit. So another page called “Plant-based Juniors” has a lot of information that I found very helpful. I even found some prenatal vegan options for supplements because a lot of the food we eat won’t necessarily be enough so supplements and vitamins are a key to taking during pregnancy. Even in a animal based diet they have prenatal pills for that too. This is the suggestion they made:
I will be sharing any and all information with the doctor before I get started or do anything. I am taking B12 plus, spirulina and kelp intake with my juices. Both help with energy levels. Spirulina was something advised to me from a holistic wellness specialist because I am anemic. This has a boost in many other factors as well (source):
Powerful Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Properties. ...
Can Lower “Bad” LDL and Triglyceride Levels.
Protects “Bad” LDL Cholesterol From Oxidation.
May Have Anti-Cancer Properties.
May Reduce Blood Pressure.
Improves Symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis.
May Be Effective Against Anemia.
This is something I'm doing to get me started on the right track!
